Business Development Manager


AmbaFlex is a Dutch company and global market leader in spiral conveyor solutions. You will find our machines at almost all manufacturers of FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods like Heineken, Coca Cola, Unilever, etc.) and also at distribution centres for major e-commerce companies.

We operate from our sales offices in Shanghai (China), Zwaag (head office, the Netherlands) and Dallas, (Texas, USA) and we have our own production sites in Jucu (Romania), Kunshan (China), Zwaag (the Netherlands) and Canton (Ohio, USA). With operating 4 production sites we can fulfil the global market needs.

For our Industry Business Team we are looking for a Proactive, analytic, persuasive and entrepreneurial (Global) Business Development Manager to keep AmbaFlex ahead of its competitors.

Job description

The (Global) Business Development Manager is our key interface for all commercial activities between AmbaFlex’ Industry Business Team and Regional Sales teams regarding our customers, prospects and business partners. Together with the Technologist you are responsible in identifying, specifying, and realizing market innovation needs with a focus for the Packaging (machinery) integration environment. Because of your knowledge of our markets and customers you can validate initial concept designs to ensure our development criteria meet customer needs and expectations. You will take the lead in successful market introductions, coaching and training of all relevant sales employees and support the regions.

Your analytical skills, backed up by reporting tools and channels, will bring and keep AmbaFlex aware of trends in the market and well prepared ahead to keep our leading innovative position. Together with your colleagues from the sales and engineering teams you will make a significant contribution to the Road Map for Strategical Innovations.

Profile of the candidate

The right candidate is self-supporting, consistent and persuasive in executing activities. He/She is an excellent communicator and problem solver on management level. Your focus is based on customer needs, well defined, and translated to business innovations.  Your analytic and conceptual skills in market research and market development make sure our innovations are and stay in line with future demand.

  • At least Bachelor's degree in Business or similar education
  • >10 years relevant sales experience in International and/or technical sales
  • Currently (or recently) involved in the Global Packaging Machinery Industry in a sales role and an up-to-date network in the same
  • Experience with Mission, Vision, Sales Strategy and Global Sales plans is essential
  • Positive result/solution driven and hands on attitude
  • Excellent communication skills on managerial level
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, Dutch a pre and additional languages are a plus
